Three day Gravel Biking Adventure. Simlångsdalen, the heart of gravel in southwestern Sweden. Home of the UCI World Gravel Series: Gravel, Grit’n’Grind. Simlångsdalen is a quiet village nestled in the hills and lakes of Halmstad region. Only 14km away from the E6, 2 hours and a bit from central Copenhagen, and a gateway to real wilderness. A three day gravel bike tour, based out of Paulsson’s amazing little farm. Enjoy quiet gravel roads, locally grown food and the silence of the forest.
This area is where the Småland escarpment meets the Halland lowlands. The valley is carved out by the Fylleån river. This means that there are multiple class 3 climbs, or climbs over 100m. If you are looking for challenging rides with lots of hills, that’s easy to arrange, if you are looking for enjoyable routes exploring the quiet countryside, we can to that too.

Stay at PaulssonPaleo’s scenic farm in Simlångsdalen. Accommodation at PaulssonPaleo Bed’n’Breakfast includes daily farm-fresh breakfast and use of a small kitchen.
Join in on one of Cat Paulsson-Bishop’s yoga classes, or book a private session. Imagine an evening sitting on your balcony, watching the late sun before climbing into your private sauna and a glass of your favourite at the fire.
What is a gravel bike? Gravel bikes are similar looking to a road bike but have a more comfortable riding position, wide tires designed for rough roads, and disc brakes.
Day 1: Take a 40 km ride (or more, we can arrange specific tours) around the valley to get your legs warmed up for tomorrow’s main event. Enjoy the 4 lakes, multiple quiet swimming spots and windshelters if the weather turns against you. Enjoy a pizza at our local pizzeria and a glass of wine. End the day in Paulsson’s lovely sauna.
Day 2: Here’s your big ride, you can choose to follow the 2023 Gravel, Grit’n’Grind main stage and battle against 130 km of some of the most challenging terrain, or you can head on an 80 km fika (coffee and cake) tour to some of the most beautiful wilderness cafe’s in existence. Head to Tallhöjden hotel in the village for a night of great food and you can explore the largest whiskey collection in the region! Local microbrews also available.
Day 3: Begin the day with a 5km hike two and from Danska Fall Naturreservat and check out from your rooms. During the afternoon, you have the opportunity to take a relaxing swim in one of Simlångsdalen’s beautiful lakes. It’s up to you, if you want to cycle on day 3, we can provide you with the perfect route. The roads here are as endless as your wilderness dreams.
