Top 10 Skedala Mountain Bike Trails

Skedalaskog is a city owned multi-use recreation area about 10 km outside of Halmstad on Hwy 25. Skedala Mountain Bike Area includes 2 major lakes; Torvsjön home to the outdoor school Ön, and Toftasjön. There are about 35 km of marked and another 15-20km of unmarked trails in Skedala. Currently, there are 3 mountain bike priority trails, and all other trails in the park are open for MTB use. HOWEVER, you must give other trail users right-of-way when you are riding on the mixed use trails, and let people know that you are coming.

Skedala Mountain Bike trails

Skedala mountain bike area is just one of two parts of the park. There are the 3 mountain biking routes that are quite advanced, but further along Hwy 25 you will find the Ön turn, this will take you to a second parking area that has more family friendly area with a number of different length of trails to explore.

Skedala is a multi-use area, there is the built mountain bike trails, but riders do use the other trails as well. If you are going to ride these trails you must be respectful of other trail users. It is very common to meet horses on the Red and Orange loop, I recommend saying off the Purple loop around the lake as it is filled with walkers. Dogs off-leash are not uncommon on the backcountry trails, even when it is the wrong season. Be respectful of other trail users. It is recommended to dismount and let horses past you, as that’s a whole bunch of animal to get angry!

Parking – West turn off Hwy 25 at SKEDALASKOG V for the Enduro Trails parking, or Turn off at ÖN, and drive 1km past the outdoor school (immediately off the highway) to the lakeside parking.
